Building a Business After Retirementnull

Published : July 25, 2026

Retirement was supposed to be the finish line. Instead, it turned out to be the starting gun.

After decades in the same industry, I had more ideas than I ever had time for. So I gave myself permission to chase one of them — a small business built around something I'd only ever done as a hobby.

The hardest part wasn't the spreadsheets or the late nights relearning skills I hadn't touched in years. It was believing that “retired” didn't mean “finished.” Building something new after retirement taught me that experience isn't something you retire from — it's something you finally get to spend.
